Nigerian Dwarf Does For Sale

Three full-blooded Nigerian Dwarf Goats for sale!

Meet Callie, Gracie, and Winnie.... all three are looking for their retirement forever home (although one is only 2 months old!)

Callie and Gracie are best friends and cannot be separated while they go about their landscaping duties. Little Winnie is happy to be with her aunts, but would also welcome a big adventure! She will be the perfect companion for other goats as long as she isn't expected to work as a professional milker... (she is a little self conscious about her superfluous teats... but we'll talk about that later.) We love this breed of goat because they are easy to handle, generally stay on the pleasingly plump side, and come with legs too short to jump on cars. Perfect!

A Little About Callie:

Full name- Flat Rock's Kaleidoscope, 7-8 years old, originally from Texas. This blue-eyed beauty is the queen of our small herd here in North Alabama and has given us years of wonderful landscaping. Callie is bosom friends with Gracie, but that hasn't stopped her from forming good relationships with all the other animals, especially the barn cats. She has delivered beautiful buckskin kids, alas, her udder has finally thrown in the towel. However, for anyone wanting bottle babies (and all the cuddly goodness that comes with it), there is absolutely every reason to continue her career as a devoted and capable mother. Which is a good thing because....

Yes, it's true. During an especially romantic Spring evening, our herd sire moved heaven and earth (literally) to be with his one true love. If his efforts were successful, Callie will be delivering her kids sometime in August. I am more inclined to think she is settled rather than not; and as much as she will try to nurse them herself, her udder has simply called it quits. (Callie will still bag up like a champ right before kidding, but it will be mostly scar tissue.) *Perhaps this should be considered for a homeschooling or 4-H project.*

A Little About Gracie:

Full name- Flat Rock's Graceland, 7-8 years old, originally from Texas.
Golden-eyed Gracie is the sweetest goat alive. Seriously. She has never been a mother here at our farm, but has been the official doting aunt of all the kids- whether caprine, canine, feline, or human. In fact, I would recommend this gentle fluff-ball to report for therapy duty. She gravitates towards kids, and has made children with special needs quickly feel comfortable in her presence. Her slow and steady movements are paired with a happy heart, so Gracie is a cheery companion with a knack for knowing when extra attention is needed. (I refer you to the picture of Gracie blocking an icy wind from a 19 year old dog while providing a little extra warmth. It was a common sight last winter.) We call her "Gracie, the smiling Goat."

Have I mentioned that Callie and Gracie are best friends? Even though we are retiring them as dairy goats, they will make non-smelly farm pets, landscapers, and would be perfectly qualified to work on a farm for people with special needs or disabilities. Both are extremely gentle, patient, and vetted to be around the tiniest of humans.

These girls are a package deal, and go without papers for $300.

And now about Winnie,

Full name- Crane Hill Creek's Bardic Wind, born April 9, 2018 in Crane Hill, AL.
This little darling was chosen as our keeper doeling this year, but developed double teats- normal with Boer breeds, but something we can't keep in our dairy herd since milk is the name of the game around here. Winnie has been cuddled and loved from the day she was born, and absolutely considers herself a lap goat. She has no bad habits, and is simply beautiful with her flashy buckskin and long, slender neck. And no wonder, Winnie's pedigree is simply stunning:

Purebred Nigerian Dwarf Buckling for Sale

Crane Hill Creek's Taliesin

This bodaciously beautiful buckling was born October 25, 2017, to first time parents, Susurrare Salix Arkenstone and Susurrare Salix J Bardic Song. He was up and nursing at 12 minutes old without ANY assistance and had all the correct conformations I look for in a dairy goat. Besides inheriting flashy buckskin markings from his sire, Taliesin has shown himself to be just like his mother in temperament- calm, eager to please, with in-your-lap cuddliness. He was disbudded, given his first round of CD-T vaccinations, and passed a vet inspection with flying colors on 11/8/2017. (No surprise there!)
I am offering him intact and unregistered as a Christmas Special for $150!
I am also offering him as a wether for $100 (or for a milking stanchion. I love a good trade!)

We are a small, organic dairy herd in Crane Hill, AL with both parents on site. Taliesin will be ready for placement by Christmas!

The Election that Trumped all Expectations

currently drinking: Cafe Bustelo
currently listening: Daya- Sit Still, Look Pretty

Despite the petition circulating on social media, Donald J. Trump is going to be our 45th president. He will not just be the executive head of our government, but will also have a conservatively run Senate and House of Representatives. He won the electoral college. He won big. How in the world did this happen?!?!?

Americans happened. Average Americans. And they waited until the privacy and safety of the voting booth to have their voices heard- making the previous media polls irrelevant and turning the nation red.
Why did they wait for the anonymity of election day? Because the Liberal Left has a nasty habit of labelling and ostracizing anyone who thinks differently than they do. Americans have had agenda after agenda crammed down their throats, and it has only caused them to be quiet and keep their opinions to themselves in order to keep the peace.

Here might be just a few things the Average American doesn't share publicly:

As an Average American, I will never think it's okay to murder children in the womb. I support a woman's right to do what she wants with her body, but not when it infringes upon the life of another. As an Average American, I want to dignify life, all life, all orientations of life. Therefore, I don't want my tax dollars funding Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics. The Left calls me ignorant.

As an Average American, I am not going to feel comfortable with LGBT Pride parades where naked men and women walk the streets. I am not going to be okay with shocking and explicit demonstrations of sexual exposure on the main avenue of my hometown. As an Average American, I actually do want freedom and civil liberty for everyone, but I also want decency. As an Average American, I am not thrilled that my tax dollars provide extra security for such lewd events. The Left calls me a bigot.

As an Average American, I support police officers. I am not racist, anti-semitic, and I definitly don't agree with profiling people; but I also don't support riots where store owners are victimized by needless violence. As an Average American, I have to sugar coat and couch my words carefully, making sure my thoughts line up with whatever is politically correct. If I were to speak out against the media-fueled Black Lives Matter agenda, the Left would call me a racist.
(Ps, want to talk real minority issues? Where is the Left's outrage and 24/7 news coverage of the Dakota Access Pipeline?)

As an Average American, I don't like the masses of illegal immigrants benefiting from the US federal government more than my own family. As an Average American citizen, I don't receive the same perks from government as do undocumented people... provided for by my Average American tax dollars, of course. As as Average American, I feel forgotten by my own country while the plight of non-citizens is given precedence over me. I feel hesitant and uneasy when I see thousands of men from enemy countries given refuge in American cities. I feel pressured to go against my gut instincts and turn a blind eye. The Left calls me insensitive, non-inclusive. and prejudiced.

As an Average American, I didn't crumble when Barak Obama was elected, even though I really, really didn't want him to be my president. I didn't stage protests outside of his house. I didn't scream foul. I didn't parade the streets, congesting traffic, and spitting in the faces of the very police officers that had to be there to ensure my safety.

I didn't pull elderly men out of their cars at intersections and beat them for voting contrary to me.

I moved on... without the help of therapy dogs, hot chocolate, or cancelled exams. I wasn't disillusioned to the point of losing sight of reality or our democratic foundation. The Left calls me heartless and out of touch with my fellow citizens.

As an Average American, however, I have been silent. I don't want to offend the Left. I don't want to be made to explain my morals because it might cause a break in connection with so many people that I love. (Yes, I can love you even if I disagree with you.) I don't think people who are anti-Trump need to be quieted and ignored; but the Left, with it's verbal lacerations and labelling wants to shut my voice out. The Left assures me that I am alone in my conservative convictions and that I am the only one feeling this way.

When I shared on social media that I had voted against Clinton, Left-leaning people came out of the woodwork to send me corrective messages. How could I have voted for that guy?!? How could I have been so racist and bigoted?!? How could I look my daughter in the eye and say that I hadn't voted to elect the first female president?!? How could I support a president that the KKK also supports?!?

There's no use in answering. The divisive rhetoric and riots dominating the news channels tell me there is no place for my actual opinion.

So,  I let my vote on November 8th do the talking... like the other 60,350,241 Average Americans.

YouTube Items...

currently drinking: Victoria
currently listening: Chris Isaac, Forever Blue (oldie but goodie)

It's summer! Here are some of my current YouTube suggestions to ease into, well, ease. ;)

Item One: Short Teaching
This is a great morning devo for those of us that want a daily series that cuts right to the chase. I feel like Havilah Cunnington and I are friends at this point and looked forward to her smiling face each morning.

Item Two: Long Teaching
Billye Brim… one of my all time favorites, and one of the best teachers regarding God's calendar. (Ps, it's not the Gregorian one we 'Mericans follow.)

Item Three: Creative Artist
Timbre. This gal! She gives me hope that harpists CAN be cool… and sorta relevant.

Item Four: Documentary Series
It's no secret that I am a documentary addict. Well, not now anyway. Here is a very entertaining little series on the Russian Romanov family. Nerd it up!

Item Five: Social PSA
I normally don't watch/repost this kind of stuff, but I really liked the message here. In the margin next to Galations 6:2- Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ- I have scribbled, "as Christ fulfilled the law, so we are to fulfill His ways." You can be there for someone in their time of need all day long; but knowing who sticks with YOU in YOUR times of need is a treasure indeed. Selah.

Operation "Chicken Rescue"...

Currently Drinking: raspberry water
Currently Listening: The Wild Inside by Michael Ketterer

We picked up a little more than hay today...

Two little red hens, rescued from a life in filthy cages, and on their way to Smithworld...

...where cats are friendly and keep the coop rat-free...

… where dogs are gentle shepherds...

… and where chickens are held in high regard.

Here they are, experiencing warm sunshine and grass underfoot for the first time.

They may look pitiful now with their clipped beaks and lack of nutrition…

…but, as Marge (the same breed) demonstrated during the welcoming party, life at Smithworld makes for healthy, happy, and beautiful birds!
Welcome home, Valentine and Bonnie.
